Our History

Located conveniently right on Alii Drive, Sunset Traders is home to more than 30 years of excellent service and quality products. We began selling wind chimes, sea shells, macadamia nuts, coffee cups, candles, and local jewelry back in 1982. Since then, we have shifted focus to quality T-Shirts, Aloha wear, and fine gold and silver jewelry.

Throughout our 30 years of work, Sunset Traders has survived through hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunamis. We are proud to say we are still going strong and we promise to continue to provide you with quality products for as long as we can.

Ed & Myfanwy Brunner (owners)

Ed & Myfanwy met in 1985 and married 5 years later. Their three children keep them busy. With one in college, one in high school, and one in middle school, there’s never a dull moment in the Brunner family.

You will find Ed in the store and running the coffee farm while Myfanwy is more of a behind the scenes support person. Myfanwy works as a tutor in the public and private sector with a focus as a reading specialist.

Whether you were able to visit us in person or are only able to visit us online, we hope you enjoy “our little Kona of the world!”
